Hot Seat

This is my most honest self .....

Have you ever imagined being on a hot seat... letting your guard down, where you don’t question yourself but the people around you question you? and then somebody unexpectedly or maybe expectedly asks you the same question you are scared of.
Imagine sitting there.
You might lie to people....but how will you lie to yourself? This is what was going on in my mind as I was asked to sit on this HOT SEAT.

I have joined theatre recently and today in our class we were introduced with this activity of HOT SEAT...where everyone will come and sit on the seat and will talk about who they are? People around me used to say....you will discover so much about yourself during the journey.

I did... well at least today!!!!

But more than what I discovered about myself, I discovered the discomfort that comes when you’ve seen someone in a different light and you tend to make fun of the person... because all you can see is the imagery you’ve created about them in your mind.I won’t lie... I am a judgy person..... I judge people......I frame judgments based on their behaviour, try to give them a backstory and see them not for what they are but for what I want to see or believe. But today was different because behind a quiet Rishabh, I saw trauma and struggle....behind a laughing Rashi, I saw a mother with regrets and behind a weirdo Mahindra ji (at least I found him weird) I saw experience and maturity.

I saw 10 different human beings....10 different stories and everybody’s actions made sense. I just came back from class... my room is messy right now. Unlike the usual Anmol who likes fixing things. But recently, things are not bothering me.

I know I’m jumping from one thought to another, but today... I feel stupid. I feel stupid for creating judgments and I’m glad I met 10 different people who proved me wrong and I’m happy because I learnt a lesson today -

that a superhero without a story is just another boy.
What makes them a hero is their story.....which everyone has,all you gotta do is look beyond.
